privacy policy
Last updated 29 October 2026
This policy explains what wanjaisf.com collects, why, and who else sees it. We have written it in plain English and kept it to what this website actually does.
Wanjai Restaurant & Bar

The short version
- We never sell or rent your information, and we do not share it for advertising.
- You cannot pay on this website. Online orders are placed on Toast, and card details never reach us.
- There are no accounts and no passwords on this site.
- We set no cookies and run no advertising or tracking scripts.
- Write to us and we will tell you what we hold, or delete it.
What we collect, and when
We only collect what you type into one of our forms. Nothing on this site asks for your information unless you choose to use it.
Booking a table
Your name, phone number, email address, party size, the date and time you want, and any note you add (for example a birthday or an allergy). We need these to hold the table, to send you a confirmation and a reminder, and to reach you if something changes.
Joining our mailing list
Your email address only. We send a few emails a year about new dishes, holidays and events. Every one has an unsubscribe link.
Applying for a job
Your name, phone number, email address, the position you want, your availability, and anything you write in the message box.
Asking about private dining or an event
Your name, phone number, email address, the occasion, the number of guests, the date and time you have in mind, which space you prefer, and your notes.
Claiming a prize from the fortune game
When we are running the game and you win something, we ask for your email address so we can send you the code. That is the only thing we collect there.
Automatically, as with any website
Our host keeps standard server logs: the IP address that made the request, the browser used, which page was asked for, and the time. These are used to keep the site running and to deal with abuse, and we do not use them to build a picture of you.
What we do not collect
- No payment details. There is no checkout on this website. Card numbers are never entered here and never reach us.
- No delivery addresses. We do not deliver from this site.
- No analytics or advertising trackers. We run none today. If we ever add visitor statistics we will choose a cookie-free service and update this page.
- No social media pixels and no profiling or automated decisions about you.
Who else sees it
A few services help us run the restaurant. They only get what they need for the job they do.
- Google — table bookings become events in our private reservations calendar, and the confirmation, reminder and cancellation emails are sent from our Google account. Our mailing list is stored in the same Google account.
- FormSubmit — the job application and private dining forms pass through this service on their way to our inbox.
- Netlify — hosts this website and keeps the server logs described above.
- Google Fonts — the typefaces on this site load from Google, which means Google sees the IP address of anyone who opens a page.
- Google Maps — the directions page embeds a map, and Google may set its own cookies there under its own policy.
We may also share information where the law requires it, or where we need to establish or defend a legal claim. That is the whole list. Nobody else receives your details, and no one buys them from us.
Links that take you somewhere else
Ordering online, joining Toast Rewards, booking parking and our social media links all lead to other companies' websites: Toast, SpotHero, Instagram, Facebook and Google. Once you are there, their terms and their privacy policies apply, not ours. We do not control them and we do not receive your data from them.
Cookies and what is stored in your browser
This website sets no cookies of its own.
We save one thing on your device: whether you chose light mode or dark mode, so the site looks the same next time. It is stored in your browser, it holds no personal information, and it never reaches us. Clearing your browser data removes it.
The embedded Google map is the one place where another company may set cookies on our pages.
Do Not Track: we do not track visitors across websites, so there is nothing for a Do Not Track signal to switch off.
How long we keep things
- Reservations stay in our calendar as a record of who we served, and we clear out old ones periodically.
- Mailing list entries stay until you unsubscribe, which removes you from the list.
- Job applications and event enquiries stay in our email inbox while we are considering them and for a reasonable time afterwards.
Where tax or employment law requires us to keep a record for longer, we do.
Your choices
- Cancel a booking with the link in your confirmation email, or call us.
- Leave the mailing list with the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email.
- See, correct or delete what we hold about you — email or call us and we will take care of it.
If you live in California
California residents have the right to know what personal information a business has collected about them, to ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and not to be treated differently for asking. To use any of those rights, email wanjaicafesf@gmail.com or call (415) 939-8795, and we will confirm who you are before we act so that nobody else can ask on your behalf.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
Children
This website is meant for adults making plans to eat with us. It is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has sent us something, tell us and we will delete it.
Keeping it safe
We take reasonable care: the site is served over an encrypted connection, the reservations calendar and our inbox are protected by our own accounts, and only the people who need to see a booking can see one. No website or email system is perfectly secure, and we cannot promise otherwise.
Changes to this policy
If we start using a new service, or collect something new, we will update this page and change the date at the top. The current version is always the one you are reading.
Questions, or a request about your information? Write to wanjaicafesf@gmail.com or call (415) 939-8795. See also our terms of service.
