building wanjai

Before we opened: the new orange storefront on Geary Street and the bar taking shape inside.

about us

Wanjai means “sweetheart” in Thai. Kitty and Ethan opened our Thai restaurant and bar at 678 Geary Street, San Francisco, on February 1, 2026.

We are known for khao soi, the Northern Thai curry noodle soup in a rich coconut broth, served seven ways.

Around it: appetizers, Thai-style ceviche, spicy salads, main dishes and Thai desserts. At the bar, Singha is poured on tap, with wine, sake and our own cocktails.

We are open every day from 5 PM to 11 PM.

Wanjai's dining room: brown leather chairs, small yellow flowers and candles on the tables, and the orange bar under brass lights
